    Default Calling all sky-jockeys...

Thought the Brylcreem boys would appreciate this one, a thread on Military Watch Resource describing a vintage watch owner reunited with the watches original pilot owner. An outstanding tale with interesting commentary and pictures.

    Hey Andy,

Thanks for sharing that post link - pretty cool. Back when navigators had to really earn their keep. Only wish we would of been issued IWCs. The USAF was just cheap enough to give us Casio G-Shocks. But they did issue Tag Heuer manual wind stop watches with flyback function (that was 1989). We continued to "shoot" celestial in the USAF C-130s up until 1997 at which time they phased it out...no need to run the computations for sextant shots when your plane has GPS and INS. After that time, the main business of our 130 navs had become low-level air-drop missions. Again, a fascinating look back.

    Cheers,

    Jerry
