Default Cool video on special boat teams

I found this on the net it brought back memories they now call themselves Special Boat Team's but back in the 1980's and early 1990's we were called Special Boat Unit's.And it was easy to get in I was just told you are now transferred and I was in SBU IX.And we had on the job training and I would of retired there if they did not close down the base on the west coast. They had two sites for training riverine warfare one on the west coast and another on the east coast. Now only one and the name has change the training is tougher the boat's are better, the weapons are sure better I would of traded the twin 50 for the mini gun.And active duty can stay there for there whole time in the military they use to have to go back to the fleet us reserves were lucky we got to stay.Well here is link to the video.

I think that the USN has an honest-to-goodness MOS/career path for these sailors now. "Combat Craft Crewman" or something.

Your right. We use to have on the job training they had training det's you had a PQS book got it signed off it lasted a year or more leaned every position on the boat gunner, boat driver, navigation, boat engineer, radio man, tactics after all that a written test and a board of your peers if you pasted all that you got your NEC 9533 MOS combat craft crewman they change the NEC or MOS and the pin and it's a school you go through and from what I hear you stay there your whole military career and the promotion test are in your MOS not your rate like BM,QM,SK so your chances of getting promoted a whole lot better it's about time they did all that.
