Default On silvered wings - Hawker biplanes at Duxford

It's amazing to think that something like this Hawker Hind is even restorable to static condition, let alone to become airworthy...

A few years ago there were no airworthy Hawker biplanes yet there were four in the flightline at Flying Legends...

Anyone else know what the Model T is used for and what it's called?

    Here's a few clues / closeups...

    It's a mobile "starter motor" - isn't it?

Very cool, in a slightly bizarre sort of way.

I always windered whether the air pressure of movement was ever enough to restart a stalled engine on a plane that was uaually manually or, in this case, automotively, started?

    Any clues?

If it's Lemania-powered, I'm interested. Tool Chrono - interested. Dive Chrono - interested. Interesting - interested

Spot on Dave - I thought you would guess. It's called a Hucks Starter...

I don't know about the air pressure but I doubt it as props tend to windmill which causes drag? Guess we can ask someone at Farnborough on Sunday?
