    Default 1940 Kirovskie

With all the interest in WW2 era K-43 Kirovskies and those superb watches posted by Lars and Jie-Hong, I thought that someone might be interested in this 1940 Kirovskie currently for sale on ebay...

    Seller's Ebay text:

This auction is a unique example of the men’s timepiece SOVIET wrist-watch KIROVSKIE which was made by the First State Watch Factory in 1940 (signed in mechanism). It is the first Russian watch by the own assemblage which was ordered by the Ministry of Defense for the Red Army. This military model of watch was used by soldiers and officers of the Soviet Army during the Second World War. Today such watches can be met extremely seldom because the most part of them were broken during the War. This is one of those models of watches that were subject to rigorous quality control and were never available for the open market (sold exclusively through Military stores, which catered to military personnel with identification). This timepiece, called "Saucepan" because of thickness and the corresponding form, is interesting by its strict military design. This gorgeous timepiece features light-colored original dial ,with a 60 minute checkered outer track border, the inner line of numbers with a 13-24 hour numbering, Arabic numerals, original hands and a second’s dial with 60 second outer chapter.
The winding crown is in excellent shape, operating smoothly.
The watch is mechanical and completely original. The watch is the first type item. The original movement of serial number 12271 was very well saved, considering age of this watch, In working condition and keep correct time .
Diameter watch: 45 mm . Thickness watch: 14 mm
Your item will be shipped very promptly.
Feel free to email me any questions.
All pictures are real, not downloaded from elsewhere.

Auction ended at $122.50 and my final snipe price was only half of that.
