    Default Egyptian Commando Panerai

With the thread on the main forum about the Egyptian Commando Panerai reissues, I thought that you might be interested in these two links about the originals...

When you consider that over four years ago this watch below sold for $75,000, the reissue doesn't look so expensive...

    It is 60mm across.

    Regards

    Jon'.

That Egiziano is quite special, in the same way that many mil' watches are, but I'm still not convinced by that bezel. I know Panerai have used in dozens and dozens of editions since then, but it still seems a little odd to me. The bezel markers are small, as to almost be non existent. Something just doesn't work for me. I appreciate that there are other mil' divers with minimal bezels (BP FF Bund, for example) but I just don't get the Panerai design. Hey ho. I expect the paneristi will have my guts for garters, or whatever it is that they do to heretics...

Your bleeding-edge Now is always someone else’s past. Someone else’s ’70s bellbottoms. Grasp that and start to attain atemporality.
