That's the civilian 'military' 7177; it wasn't 'issued' (they were only formally issued in the BUND variety, with an NSN number on the back - depending on your definition of 'issued', even then, they are very recognisable variations (UAE, Venezuelan Air force; NATO, RN, etc)).

The strange thing is that it has the white chronograph second and minute hands- they don't look faded white, the hour chrono hand is faded but still visibly not white. Looks likely that they are slightly incorrect service replacements (that I haven't seen much before) or even repainted, although that would seem a faff.

    Cheers all the same!

Doh I wonder what happend with the link , I found a bund but was not pvd. So BUND or proper issued markings is a must. As it should be IMHO. I'll have to retrace my searches from yesterday....

    Hello all ,

sorry but to my opinion the "civilian 7177" was the 7176 including too the (3H) logo on its dial .

I had the opportunity to buy one with this configuration but I bought in fine a 7177 *NATO* with obviously its NSN .

    Thanks jl+
    Have you got a list?
please feel help out with living the dream...

Starting to get the feeling pd and the other 'military' are spinning the same ploy cwc mwc are. By maintaing the same dial/case/etc formation. To sell stock off that was left over from previous mil contracts.

The is not a dig at the respective companies. Just makes the hunt harder for a newbi like myself.

I'm a big cwc hoarder having nearly got a full compliment. Just missing date 'navigator' versions.

It's probably my cack-handed explanation JL,
The 7176 was logo'd with the 'PD' symbol on the dial & had the 'ball' hand.
the 7177 was logo'd with the 'MILITARY'and '3H' symbols on the dial and had the pointed hand.
Both were sold as civilian watches.
The 7177 BUND was the main issued one, but had no 7177 on the case-back.

I think that's the main breakdown!

    Cheers.
