You may wish to correct the link, since you've included two "http://" in it.

Interestingly, it is an early model from those made by Eberhard on the basis of their Champion chronograph. It looks very similar to your watch and mine, but it is in fact very slightly smaller, with a more rounded case, and with a different bezel. It also doesn't have the screwdown caseback found on later models made by Candino for DPW.

It's a nice watch, but I find its price too high...

I couldn't get that link to work, but I think this does - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1707667899...ht_4561wt_1270

    Nice, but waaaaaay too much.
The listing is a little fictitious too.
We know that DPW worked with Breitling on their quartz dive watches for vanity issues to certain units, and that these were based on the Breitling Colt at the time.
We know that North Eagles and DPW together produced the later versions of these watches for similar issues (the late size as Pascal referred to).
I am not aware of any hint that the rest of DPW's output was in any way related to Breitling.
Indeed the Breitling produced ones are signed as much - this is not.
So the Breilting connection is merely marketing fluff.

If it's Lemania-powered, I'm interested. Tool Chrono - interested. Dive Chrono - interested. Interesting - interested

Yep, by the time this watch was made, DPW's ties with Breitling had been severed for a little while. Furthermore I'm positive that this series of watches was made by Eberhard on the basis on their Champion model, as the case and bezel are identical. This association didn't last long though...

One has to remember that DPW was more a personalized dial maker than a true watch company. They worked with Breitling, Eberhard and Candino for sure, and possibly with a few other brands, marketing a some selected models with personalized details for military units and private companies.

Funnily enough, I once knew a guy in school who briefly worked with them as an agent, back when they started in the 1980s. I remember that because at the time I had just acquired a Breitling myself, so the idea of a company selling special editions seemed a bit puzzling to me. It is only recently that I made the connection between that memory and the DPW brand. I remembered that the guy I knew had mentioned that the company he was working with was operating from Genoa, and guess where DPW was based... It's a small world, I'm telling you!
