Aaah, and early doppelzeiger, with the slower-beat 5012 movement.
I am sure you don't need me to tell you that the GMT is a bit of a figment, merely a second hour indicator fixed to the hour hand, intended to show GMT when the main hand is set to European time. It is, of course not separately set-able.

This particular one is the early case, with polished, brushed and sunburst finish. It is not in the best condition, so if you have plans to refurbish, be aware that re-doing the sunburst is ferociously difficult to do, and is a "no mistakes" operation, if done on a lapping machine, and frequently not very satisfying if done manually.

I am slightly surprised at the total lack of any engraving on rotor or caseback, but that may be genuine.
The chrono-hour hand at 6 is losing paint
The day-date is not terribly well aligned
The subdial printing is not looking too clever

Did you notice that one of the photos from the listing has made it onto the Sinn reference page here?

So, I would budget quite a lot to fx this up, if that is your preference, and a medium sum for a full service if not.

But interesting, not necessarily for the GMT, but for the early 5012 with the absent sub-dial at 12.

    Regards
    Dave

I was wondering about that one. I saw it and asked myself if the 5012 ever came in a GMT flavor. Didn't seem to make sense (Sinn!) at first glance.

Dave, are you saying the the "GMT" hand is always two hours away from the main hour hand?

I also was surprised by the unsigned rotor. In my experience, Sinn signed all their movements, but then again something this early might not have been signed. With the caseback and rotor, it looks more like our favorite Lemania with a Sinn dial than the original Sinn item. I think the seller is reputable, though, so maybe this is another missing piece in Lemania's storied past.

Yes, except I am saying it is only 1 hour behind. It is actually one hand, with two pointers.

This is a German watch, GMT is Greenwich, 1 hr behind (most of the time).

As Al posted here, Sinn offered two types of DoppelZeiger, one for GMT, one for 10-minute countdowns. The featured watch here

Had both (just to make things difficult)
