    Gentlemen, greetings to you all!

The name is Zissis and Athens, Greece is the location.

37 years of age, notable facts include a 3 year training as a military pilot in the Hellenic Air Force Academy having flown T-41s and T-37s (my life's dream) and a 15 year career in various positions of the sales sector (boring...).

Been bitten (mainly) by the Lemania bug a couple of years ago and trying to recover ever since...

Other passions include classic cars (proud owner of a track day 1980 Alfetta GTV a.k.a ''The Metal Woman in my life''), aviation and enjoying specimens of literature & cinema which appear stimulating to my heart and eyes.

And a few photos of some of the pieces that reside permanently in my humble collection...

Hello Zissis, and a warm welcome from me . Given your interests and your Hellenic Air Force Academy training I think you'll fit in famously here. Wait until Jon' reads about your aviation past!

Anyway to far more important matters, can we see some pics of your Alfetta GTV please. I've always had an irrational soft spot for Alfa's although, like my watches, I prefer the late 60's and early 70's models.

    Cheers,
    Gary

Hi Gary and a big thanks for your welcome note!

I am a complete sucker for vintage Alfas and especially Nord DOHC engines so here are some photos of the GTV, a project that even after 14 years doesn't seem to come anywhere near an end (like all good things in life by the way...)

Hi Niall and Zissis, welcome to our little place here on the Net... I'm Alistair the A in ATG welcome aboard...

So cars, planes and watches.... you'll fit right in here.....

I am originally a vintage collector in the film business as you will see from the Galleries I have owned and sold more watches than any sane man should do but I still love it.....

For you pilot types you should have a look at the MB1.5 Forum for something unique.... the vintage Forum for all things, well all things... more of a casual lounge than a straight Forum... Dive forum has just kicked off and there is a Lemania Forum on it's way.. you guys just can't see it until it goes live. DaveS our resident Lemania guy is loading it right now but that should also be a pretty cool place....

All of your watches are very cool... you guys should fit right in here.....

Welcome Zissis and Niall. Great avatar you've chosen, Zissis - I was thinking of using the X-15 myself for personal reasons - one of the MGs I drove at Bonneville was named project X-15 by McLaren F1 designer/stylist Peter Stevens, who was in charge of it.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your Air Force training and seeing more of your two Bund watches over on NSN 6645 - you certainly have my attention!

Like the GTV too - looks like the best one I've seen - remember Octopussy?

I play around with cars too but my main interest has moved to historic aviation. One of my goals this year is to complete my PPL and then (if not before) I'm looking for someting old, interesting and airworthy...

    Regards

    Jon'.

Thanks for your kind words Jon!

The X-15 is really the TOP hot rod in my book and i dream the day that i will be able to see one (let alone touch it)...The absolute speed and height records that this aircraft holds since the 60s still stand today! This is real astronaut stuff...

I am still mad about planes and although i managed to clock about 100 flight hours in T-41s and T-37s (as a Hellenic Air Force cadet) i still haven't found time to complete my PPL (i have to pass through the whole examination's process again because my flight hours in the H.A.F don't count for the private license...).

The GTV is indeed my other love (a great amount of time and money spent on this beauty) and although 'only' a 2 litre it humiliates normal to slightly tweaked 2,5 GTVs with ease.
A restoration (after an accident) with this car, diverted my funds from the PPL flight lessons (i had already passed the medical and 'ground' exams but now i have to start all over again).

It is great to hear about your passion with historic aviation although here in Greece i would dare to say that the scene is still in its infancy...I have found time though to enjoy some warbirds in museums in both UK and the US.
I am mad about P-51s and i would die to see 'La Strega' racing at Reno!

I will post some more pictures of the BUNDs in the NSN thread by the way...

    Thanks Gary!

A couple more shots (hope I've not become boring yet) will definitely hint to the amount of time and effort spent...
