    No, certainly not.
This, however, is the right one

(sorry, no idea how to re-title the link, I used to be able to, now I am on advanced settings, I can't).

Nice to see a couple of my old Wittnauers, one of which is mis-represented as being nickel plated, when in fact it is all stainless.

I might have a bid on The Val 71 one, just in case it doesn't attract interest, and I can snaffle it back again.

120 pages of beautiful watches. Wow.

Here's a thought (and I'm curious to know what you think): all watches come with an estimate. IT would be interesting to see if the watches reach the estimated price or go over / stay under. Given the fact that there are so much watches for sale, something can be said over the fact if there's a financial crisis that has its influence on the watch market or not. Or, are there potential buyers out there, buying watches as an investment, thinking that it's better to buy watches than money in the bank. (That's what going on in the classic car market at the moment!)

(Can't get my ideas about this subject on the screen in proper English, but I'm sure you'll know what I mean).

    Hi Menno
It is almost universal here for auction estimates to be below the actual hammer price.
    Intentionally.
    The rationale goes like this.
The Auctioneer makes the watch attractively low-priced.
This invites bids, as people sense they may be able to get a bargain.
Once bidding starts, it becomes a competition.
No-one like losing a competition, and so auction fever sets in and the bidders go over their own limit prices because they want to win.
So they hope to get more than if they start high and stifle the number of bidders involved.

Some cracking watches on there. I absolutely love those Omega 1932 pocket watches!

Some crackers indeed...although all the extra costs put me off buying watches at auction, especially as I can rarely be there in person:

    Buyers premium 21.6% including VAT
    Online bidding charge 3.6%
    Credit card surcharge 2.5%

...27.7% added to the hammer price makes a nasty surprise for those that didn't read the small print!

    Cheers,

    Nick

I know, it's all a tad over the top IMO, presumably they are getting listing fees as well?! I don't see why the online has a commission where as a telephone bid does not. I know they have to pay for the online stuff but it seems odd you can pick up the phone and save 3.6%!

Some nice watches. But they got a odd ball on lot 165 a dam Helson boutiqe watch those are none to leak thought that was strange to see that at a antique watch action.Maybe some one should tell them it's not a antique.
