Default Revue Thommen (Certina) Chrono Stainless F1 Audi rings crown Manual 1982 - SOLD

Revue Thommen (Certina) Stainless F1 (Audi rings crown detail) Manual Chronograph 1982

Only a few firms in the Swiss watch industry can look back on such a long tradition as Revue Thommen. The firm, Revue Thommen, was founded in 1853 by Gédéon Thommen and it developed into one of the leading companies in this sector. In the early days, only wristwatches and pocket watches were produced. They relied exclusively on their own movements, as was only fitting. Around 1920, Revue Thommen also decided to start producing instruments for the aviation industry. This segment was constantly expanded, and today, Revue Thommen's instruments are among the leading products in the aviation industry. Small watches (wristwatches) were produced in La Chaux-de-Fonds for many years. The Revue Thommen Cricket* products (mechanical alarm clocks) became world famous. Many presidents of the United States were proud wearers of the Revue Thommen Cricket watch. from Wkki Revue make technical watches still and their Airspeed Range included the Lemania family of movements. This watch case dial and bezel were used by Certina in a couple of their dive watches and as this is a promotional watch I think Revue would have turned to Certina for this watch as they didn't make this watch themselves.

Large stainless brushed case with all the F1 racing detail you can fit in to a watch dial and handset! Lol! Brilliant looker, I think perhaps it was a watch for Audi Touring Cars or Le Mans as the crown is signed with the Audi rings maybe for the Quattro Team. Anyway valjoux movement great aptina'd dial with rev counter registers. As I said this is a large steel case watch at 40mm with very cool detailing. The strap is an original ATG boot toe perforated strap which makes it look sooo cool on the wrist... brrrmmm!

The watch has been serviced and carries a 3 month mechanical warranty.
Due to their age and the original use of these watches there are minor marks to be found on the cases
which add to their vintage look without detracting from the quality, view the pictures for clarification.
ATG vintage watches give no waterproof guarantee or even splash proof, these watches are from a time before any idea of a fully waterproof watch.
