Default Tropic Straps - Are they worth it?

I ve been trawling the internet for some ideas for different straps for my diver. In my quest for ideas I ve come across a fair few ads "on the bay" for tropic straps. They seem to command a very high value for what they are, which to me is just a plastic strap!!!

So my question is, are they worth it?

Ok, so I know that ultimately they are worth what someone's prepared to pay but are they comfortable to wear and useable? Or are they really just for folk looking for some 60s originality. Really looking to hear from folk with some experience of them. And for the record I ve no intention of putting one on my watch, I m just curious.

Thanks in advance for any insight that anyone can offer.

I have have an Isofrane strap for my Omega PO that is very comfy! Is it worth the 150.00 price is subjective! Here is a link for some Tropic straps for under $10.00, but I have never owned one! http://www.ofrei.com/page1631.html. Most of my watches are relatively expensive and some companies have bullet proof reputations, so for me I go with what has a solid track history! Good luck in your search! Cheers Jim

I have an Isofrane - great strap but a bit pricey perhaps.
The Tropic is something I'd get if I had an appropriate period/use watch I think - it adds I think, but mostly in that particular context imho.
Not heard many bad reports but no personal experience.

If you need a 20mm tropic contact Peter Taubman at greatsw@cox.net. He is a great seller and he charges $80.
Are they worth it? That is up to you. I'd never pay the $200 price tag some jokers charge. Plus, I find them relatively short in length.
