Default Incomming; not Swiss, Japanese this time!

And a special one: a Seiko 6217 or better known as the 62MAS (where MAS stands for auto-MA-tic S-elfwinding).

I've been looking for one quite some time now and most 62MAS I saw were worn or way to expensive. I just bumped into this one: found it on the TZ-UK forum, and no one had replied! I contacted the seller and we had a deal within minutes. The watch is on it's way to my house now.

This 1967 62MAS is the grand father of all Seiko dive watches. The first Japanse watch to hit the 150m mark.

Given the fact that I now almost own the complete family of all Seiko divers, it's time to move on to the prehistorical Seiko divers days: the Silver Wave 30 and 50. Be prepared for a WTB on the sales part of the forum!

Default The watch arrived this morning...

... and without knowing your question, one of my kids asked me to do the same. I didn't put all divers on display, here's just a family shot:

Well done Menno, I wondered who'd bagged that one it seemed to slip under the radar for some reason.

I think I'm right in saying this model was introduced in 1965 (my birth year), I've often thought of trying to get one from its maiden year, for obvious reasons.

    Cheers,

    Gary

I'm not much of a diver watch fan, but that threesome shot makes me appreciate the 62MAS even more. Sweet!
