Default Speake-Marin at SIHH 2017 (Carré des Horlogers)

Peter Speake-Marin was exhibiting at the Carré des Horlogers this year. It's a small square of independent watchmakers, nestled within the walls of the SIHH.

Among the many new watches on display, a couple caught my eye. The Speake-Marin One & Two immediately caught my eye. It's a new movement, and a little more industrial-looking that his previous designs:

There was also a new Serpent Calendar, with a new, slimmer case and brown accents. The lugs are also slightly changed and the crown has also undergone a redesign. It worked well on the wrist, and maintains that "PSM"-ness without becoming too generic.

Brand Ambassador and all round dude Pierce Brosnam popped by and caused quite a scene:

There was even an impromptu #teamPSM get together!

Your bleeding-edge Now is always someone else’s past. Someone else’s ’70s bellbottoms. Grasp that and start to attain atemporality.

great stuff @Noodlefish always amazes me how he manages to create something different and 'not a Speake Marin' until you see the case..... I do like the Thalassa any other interesting things.... who did you go with ?

I was provided with tickets by Jaeger-LeCoultre UK - but just Guest Passes. I couldn't even get in to see the Richemont brands (which was a shame).

    Great post Matt,
That One & Two looks great in the pictures I am sure it was a stunner in the flesh.
I think the crown is maybe a little too soft, but the shorter lugs look very good, especially on the gold case as it gives it a much dressier look with the strap closer to the case, although I still love the original longer ones.
In the press release it mentions the movement is hand assembled & finished, but I wonder if things like the hands are still hand cut etc., or whether it is automated now?
Was there any mention of the Price these will be at ?

    Mark.
