Default WW2 RAF Officers Mess mantle clock

Been a while since I posted since it's been a while since I added something. Just got this in the mail the other day 4 day shipping from the UK is fast for a clock to the USA had some watches delivered slower. Been wanting a RAF clock for some time and most private sellers on forums and ebay wont ship to the USA these days the insurance is hard to get these days. I found a UK seller on Ebay willing to ship and that was not cheap but even with that it was cheaper than a none runner I was looking at on US Ebay. So got this one a RAF Officers Mess clock made by Elliott clock co of England in 1939. It has a 8 day Fusee movement those movements are built like a tank. Some time issued clocks are under the radar and cheaper than issued watches every one else is after these days.

The RAF Logo is in great condition.

The 8 day Fusee movement being made in 1939 it started it's life right in the beginning of WW2.

I was told by the seller this was given as a gift by Brian Burnett who was a Chief Air Marshal in the RAF around 1975 so some interesting history.

The pin was missing from the suspension spring that attaches to the Stick and bob the pendulum. I ordered some pins and found out the suspension spring was to short because the clocks running fast. There is a nut on the bob you raise it for fast and lower it to slow the time down. The nut is down all the way so to lower the bob more a longer suspension spring. so ordered two.

I will have to cut for length and drill a small hole so a pin can go through to attach the stick and put another pin in the top so it can attach to the movement there's a brass tip with a hole already on the suspension spring. I ordered two incase I mess up never did this before.
