    Beautiful! Thanks, Andy!

It appears that your crown lugs are modified to accept what seems to be a larger, deeper crown.

Love the bracelet, too! Solid links and an inlaid logo? Prima!

Cheers - it's actually keeping really good time as a bonus, I'll post up the pics of the box 'n' bits when I get home next month, just for the record as it were.

Glad to hear it is going so well Andy.

It is these photos of the crown guards that caught my attention.

    Yours, Andy

    And Mine

Your guards seems to come to a point, with a small square end.
Mine has a distinct corner to an end that curves all the way round to a pronounced scallop at the rear (which I am sure yours also has).

This looks totally different at the rear

There is no doubt in my mind that the evolution of this model over its history incorporates the development of almost all of the components.

Could your watch be this particular one? That would explain the odd reddish tint...

    Si parlo Italiano Pascal!

I can't see the pics at work, but some loose translation leads me to think not; mine has the original sale receipt (new) stamped Apr 2007, and I doubt such a revision would be needed only 12 months later, but I'll wait to see the pics.

I did understand that he had eliminated the brown tint with some careful cleaning - if this is the case I will investigate further!

I'll update when back on a real computer that shows pictures and things....!

It's certainly the same type/generation, but not the same watch - he had it originally with the 3 red hands, slight discolouration of the subdials and a non original bracelet. (You can also spot a small imperfection on the 7 o'clock marker which isn't on mine).

He's cleaned it up well, but some of the subdial numerals look as if they've had a bit of a rub as some bits appear to have flaked.

Interestingly the discolouration is exactly the same as mine - especially the hour subdial - I'll put this down to the chrono second hand counter-weight resting above that particular spot, which means it's reacted with light over time, perhaps with slight humidity.

Anyhoo, at least he's an appreciator - rare amongst the Italians...(brutto per molti!)

"Una nota prima di continuare: dal mio punto di vista questo calibro, brutto per molti, č un piccolo capolavoro tecnico. Aldilā del fatto che i puristi lo aborrino per via del pesante uso della plastica. Mi piace l'innesto a frizione, mi piace il gioco leve, mi piace pure la ruota a colonne piatta (cavolo, per dirlo io che mi piace una camma fatta a forma di ruota a colonne ci vuole tutta) "

I also liked his description of it as 'an unstoppable mule'

    Thanks Pascal - well found.

    Thought I'd replied

I think you're absolutely right Dave - a long period of production with small changes at least 2-3 times plus a few combinations of stock overlap in terms of dial script.

There is definitely different shaped crown guards on mine in what I presume is the last incarnation?
Would you say Dans tachymeter-less all black version is the earliest or just thrown in the mix as a slightly different model that ran parallel to the 'normal' panda version?

Another one has surfaced for sale in Italy.

    http://annunci.ebay.it/annunci/orolo...ni-70/26279031

€600 (negotiable) with what looks like an original bracelet. Still under warranty??

No connection with seller, etc, but a nice watch nonetheless.

Oh wait, we've all got one of these now, so who am I flagging this for?

Interesting that this has almost become our default "Lemania forum watch".
