Well I've come to the sad conclusion that this must have been redialed with another Wakmann dial as I can't find any Wakmann Ref 817's that have this dial. To the best of my knowledge and research so far there was only the one face as seen earlier in this thread. Then the only face I've seen that matched this one was ona for parts sale of a Wakmann on ebay in 2015 attached here. Thinking I should return the watch but there are so few of these cases to be found that I'm torn. Most tell me that 99% of the value in the watch is in the dial. As much as I buy for the pleasure, If it's a poor investment, then I'd rather spend less on another watch for fun. Any thoughts would be appreciated. The pictures illustrate mine, a correct Ref 817 Wakmann and the dial I found on a broker Wakmann ebay sale in 2015. Maybe I'm being too forensic, but the other giveaway is that I haven't seen another Wakmann with the word shockproof instead of incabloc

Did anybody know there's a modern well let's say look-a-like of the Lemania Viggen? Doesn't look too bad, right?

I'm pleased to have found that the dial on my Wakmann Ref 817 is in fact a correct dial for the lemania 1872 movement and I guess those dials said Shockproof instead of incabloc. So far I found two examples.

I think it's no brand at all. pennanochsvardet seems to be a 'shop' (?) in sweden dealing with military stuff. I suppose they have ordererd that design by a microbrand. The automatic (really?) Seagull movement is from China. A similar approach as the Heuer Bund hommage by watchusseek.com

Great find. I might have to try to order one for the hell of it if cheap. I think 1000kr is about $100 US

No, the watch was 6.000kr when sold, the link (swedish sort of ebay) is 3.500kr buy it now or bid from 1.000kr onwards, watch is 'new', so maybe unused.

I am not sure why the other post about the bezel was moderated (no by me) but I did comment on it, as follows:

The bezel is black print onto metal, alloy in the case of my Selectron, not steel.
It does fade, but I have lso seen ones that have been assisted to make them look more vintage.
I would leave it totally alone and love it for what it is.
    A lovely watch, well found.
Something very nice about these watches, there really is.

    Dave

ps - I am also glad the Wakmann is as intended. It does look good.
If it's Lemania-powered, I'm interested. Tool Chrono - interested. Dive Chrono - interested. Interesting - interested
