    Default Speak of the devil

Let's see how much a fairly knackered version goes for

    Item 320802395507

Low-rated (6, but all high value watches) seller in a potentially dodgy location (Colombia).

All chances are that this will go cheap, but we may end up being surprised.

I was pointed towards that auction yesterday by a fellow WIS overhere in Holland. In fact, he had contacted the seller and the seller replied that he's thinking/hoping to fetch al least $ 800.--
The low rate 6 worries me too much to make him an offer. Besides, there's a hefty duty to pay when the watch lands on Dutch shores; at least 19%.

This one looks familiar - isn't this the one that went quite high on Ebay?

    http://translate.google.co.uk/transl...ph%2F7292.html

That's about 1.9k in old money...

Now we know who 'OMG' is as well, possibly for 'Oh My God' as much as anything else...

Andy, are we doing the same thing?
I have been looking at the catalogue page that one is listed at for a while this evening.
Not for the Tissot (which is familiar), but primarily because I have been looking at one of the "sold" items on the page, with reference to another watch that has appeared (and now disappeared) on Chrono24.
    I'll PM you the link

Have you noticed that the Google translate of that Tissot page says that the movement is a mint 1872 Remania.

I had no idea that Google was eqipped with slightly racist cliche accent generators as well.

Ha - yes, it actually says 'clonograph' in the web address as well

Bit liberal with the truth though, saying the caseback military inscription has been polished off...

I realize this is ancient thread , but in my obsessive quest for this case, I finally got a Wakmann ref 817 with the same case and movement but slightly different configuration than the 817 I've seen posted.

Greatly appreciated, I am very excited. Its running a bit fast, but I will probably take it to my watch guy and have him check it out. Only thing I would love to do would be to find a way to get the color back to the faded bezel. I'm still not sure how a bezel would fade to this milky white, or was it originally like that. I doubt I can find a replacement bezel. Any thoughts or is the smart move to leave it alone.

My advice: don't do anything to the bezel. It's faded, yes. It's really smart to leave it alone.
