the Talon is a great jet... used by the US for loads of missions including NASA ... they are the jets that buzzed around the Space Shuttle checking it out when it was gliding down after re entry... very cool!
S82-33228 (4 July 1982) Two T-38 Chase Planes accompanied the Space Shuttle Columbia as it touched down on Runway 22 at Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California at the completion of a successful seven day stay in Earth orbit. Inside are Astronauts Thomas K. Mattingly, II and Henry W. Hartsfield, Jr., commander and pilot, respectively. Thousands of visitors were on hand in California for the unique July 4 celebration.
