Glad others are having the same issue.

I just don't understand why you'd re-issue a Skipper, without the Skipper complication. Makes no sense.

[Well, it makes plenty of sense from a business point of view, but not from a historical p.o.v.]

Your bleeding-edge Now is always someone else’s past. Someone else’s ’70s bellbottoms. Grasp that and start to attain atemporality.

It is a great metaphor for the Hodinkee Ethos, which places style and looks over functionality, and straight income on top of it all.
Their straps are another case in point.
The side-stitched style of strap they favour (and had much to do with popularising) costs $155 in their shop. Pavel of Neptune straps makes then for about £40, and makes them very well indeed, with a proper finished edge. Unlike Hodinkee, who leave them rough and unfinished.

So on this watch Hodinkee have used a standard movement, with a 30-minute chronograph sub-dial. Economics
But they wanted to re-issue the Skipper so they use the same 3 part segements in the original colours. Get the style.
And sacrifice the functionality that is the origin of the model in the first place.
But then make excuses that there is a use for 10-minute countdowns, which is baloney.
    Hmmmmmm

If it's Lemania-powered, I'm interested. Tool Chrono - interested. Dive Chrono - interested. Interesting - interested

If you need to spent 7k GPB, you can design your own worst re issue here.

7k GBP is just twice the price for the normal Autavia re issue. If you are a real nerd: just choose the standard Autavia Design (yes, that is possible, leave the initials blank)

I quite like what Bamfords do... people will pay it as their market is the 'ultra wealthy' segment... I think they make interesting versions.... I really like their Daytona variations considering there are maybe 2 of the new Rolex Daytonas that are cool...
